Arrests Made in an Auto-theft Investigation
Region of Peel – Investigators from the 11 Division Criminal Investigation Bureau have arrested and charged two individuals in relation to an auto-theft investigation in Mississauga.
On Saturday, March 29, at approximately 11:20 a.m., officers were alerted to a stolen vehicle in the area of Willow Way and Riverside Place in Mississauga. Investigators conducted surveillance in that area, which led to the apprehension of two individuals.
Asmaa Ouadria, a 24-year-old woman from Quebec was arrested and charged with the following offences:
- Possession of Break-in-Instruments
- Possession of Device to Obtain Unauthorized Use of a Computer System
- Fail To Comply with Release Order X 3
- Breach of Probation Order
At the time of arrest, Ouadria was wanted by Durham Regional Police for similar offences.
A youth was also arrested in connection to this incident and charged with the following offence:
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime
A general provision of the Youth Criminal Justice Act (Y.C.J.A.) prohibits the release of a Young Person's name; therefore, the identity of the Young Person charged in this investigation is protected.
Both parties were held in custody pending a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton.
