Search Warrant Results in Drugs and Firearm Seizure
Region of Peel – Investigators from the Strategic and Tactical Enforcement Policing Unit (STEP) have arrested and charged a Brampton man following a firearms investigation.
On Monday, September 25, 2023, at 2:23 p.m., the STEP team, with the assistance of the Tactical Unit, executed a search warrant at a Brampton residence, resulting in drugs and a firearm seizure.
Xavier Emerson, a 23-year-old man from Brampton, was arrested and charged with the following Criminal Code offences:
- Knowledge Of Unauthorized Possession Of Firearm
- Careless Storage Of Firearm, Weapon, Prohibited Device Or Ammunition
- Unauthorized possession of a prohibited device (X2)
- Possession of a prohibited firearm with ammunition readily available
- Fail to comply with recognizance (X2)
- Possession of a weapon contrary to prohibition order
- Possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking (X4)
- Possession of property obtained by crime - proceeds
At the time of his arrest, Emerson was breaching two separate recognizance orders for firearms and other related offences and was on a weapons prohibition.
He was held for bail hearings and appeared before the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton.
