UPDATE: Suspect Seen Concealing Licence Plate After Fatal Fail Hit and Run in Mississauga

Suspect Concealing Plate in Trunk

Region of Peel – Investigators from the Major Collision Bureau are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect vehicle involved in a hit and run.  

On Friday, Nov. 14, at approximately 9:05 p.m., a Mini Cooper struck and killed a pedestrian at the intersection of Eglinton Avenue West and Fallingbrook Drive in Mississauga. The driver fled the scene westbound on Eglinton Avenue without checking on the person they struck.

Through investigative efforts, investigators located CCTV footage in the vicinity moments after the crash that shows a male suspect remove the rear licence plate of the vehicle and conceal it in the trunk before fleeing.

The footage depicts clearer images of the car, a 2014-2018 Mini Cooper S 4-door , Silver or Grey with a black roof and unique rims. The car has visible damage to the front passenger side, hood, and windshield.

Investigators are currently reviewing additional footage obtained from high-definition cameras along the path the suspect drove and would like to thank the public for their ongoing assistance in this investigation. Further information will be provided once it's available.

The suspect is strongly advised to seek legal counsel and turn himself in to the police.

Any automotive repair shops that have any vehicles matching this description are urged to contact the police or Crime Stoppers immediately.
