Man Arrested For Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle

Region of Peel – Investigators from the 12 Division Criminal Investigation Bureau have arrested a man on an outstanding warrant for dangerous operation and flight from police, among other charges.    

On Friday, September 22, 2023, at approximately 6:10 p.m., police attended in the area of Annegem Boulevard and Edwards Boulevard for reports of an assault. Upon the arrival of police, the accused fled the area in a 2023 White Volkswagen Atlas with a licence plate of *CXLR112*

The accused was driving dangerously, posing a risk to public and officer safety. Police attempted to stop the vehicle, but the accused fled from police.

On Saturday, September 23, 2023, Chirag Patel was located by investigators from the 12 Division Criminal Investigation Bureau and arrested on the strength of the warrant, and the vehicle was seized. 

Chirag Patel, of no fixed address, has been charged with the following charges:

• Dangerous Operation of a Motor vehicle x3

• Assault

• Fail to remain

• Mischief over $5000

• Flight from Police 

• Theft under $5000 x 2

He was held for a bail hearing and appeared before the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton.
