Arrest Made in Stranger Sex Assault

Region of Peel Investigators from the 21 Division Criminal Investigation Bureau have arrested and charged a 33-year-old man from Brampton.

On Friday, December 31, 2021, at 10:00 p.m., the female victim was walking on neighbourhood sidewalks and trails in the area of Torbram Road and Peter Robertson Boulevard in Brampton when a lone male suspect approached her from behind. The suspect sexually assaulted the female, then exposed himself before fleeing the area. The victim did not sustain any injuries.

Investigators have identified the suspect as Manvir Singh Sandhu. On Saturday, January 9, 2022, Manvir Singh Sandhu was arrested and charged with one count of Sexual Assault and Indecent Act.

He was held for a bail hearing and attended the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton on January 9, 2022.
