Police make Arrest in Break and Enter/Stolen Vehicles Investigation

Region of PeelInvestigators from the 22 Division Criminal Investigation Bureau have arrested and charged a man in relation to a break and enter and stolen vehicles investigation that began in January of 2019 in Brampton.

On Wednesday, January 16, 2019 police began an investigation in relation to a stolen vehicle in the area of Richmead Road and Durango Drive in the City of Brampton. Evidence left behind provided a foresic analysis of a suspect.

On Tuesday, April 2, 2020 a male suspect committed a break and enter at truck rental centere, which is located in the area of Main Street and Archibald Street in the City of Brampton. The suspect obtained truck keys and committed the theft of a vehicle.

On Wednesday, April 3, 2020 at approximately 4:02a.m. the suspect committed a break and enter at a business in the area of Bradco Boulevard and Matheson Boulevard East in the City of Mississauga. At approximately 9:05a.m. police attended a premise located in the area of Davand Drive and Derry Road East in the city of Mississauga, to investigate the theft of a moving truck that was committed by the suspect. At approximatley 11p.m. the male suspect committed a break and enter at a truck rental centere, which is located in the area of Main Street and Archibald Street in the City of Brampton, the suspect obtained truck keys and committed the theft of a vehicle.

On Saturday April 4, 2020 investigators observed the suspect operating a stolen vehcile in the area of Rutherford Road and Queen Street in the City of Brampton. An attempt was made to stop the vehicle, but the suspect fled. The vehicle was later located in the area of Treleaven Drive in the City of Brampton.

Investigators continued their investigation througout the day and night. On April 5, 2020 at approximately 1:48a.m. police arrested and charged Fernando Meucci, a 22 year-old man of no fixed addressed with the following charges:

  1. Break and Enter X2
  2. Theft of Motor Vehicle X3
  3. Possession of Stolen Property X2
  4. Breach of Recognizance X2
  5. Breach Probation
  6. Drive Disqualified X2
  7. Flight from Police
  8. Dangerous Operation

Fernando Meucci was held for a bail hearing and will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton on Sunday, April 5, 2020.
