Attempted Murder Charges Laid After Man Shot in Neighbour Dispute
Region of Peel – Investigators from the 11 Division Criminal Investigation Bureau have arrested and charged a male in connection with a neighbour dispute shooting in the City of Mississauga.
On Friday, Jan. 24, 2025, at around 10 a.m., police responded to a shooting in the area of Rathburn Road West and Perivale Road, in Mississauga. The suspect and the victim engaged in a verbal dispute resulting in the victim being shot. The victim was transported to a trauma centre and is expected to make a full recovery.
On Saturday, Jan. 25, 2025, investigators executed a Criminal Code search warrant at the suspect’s residence and seized numerous firearms, thousands of rounds of ammunition, and other weapons.
Richard Loo, a 62-year-old man from Mississauga was arrested and charged with the following:
- Attempt Murder
- Aggravated Assault
- Discharge Firearm
- Possession of Firearm
- Carry Concealed Weapon
- Possession at Unauthorized Place
- Careless Storage of a Firearm
- Point Firearm
- Utter Threats
- Assault
He was held pending a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton.
