Two Charged with Attempted Murder in Pedestrians Struck

Region of Peel– Investigators from the 22 Division Criminial Investigation Bureau and the Major Collision Bureau have arrested one youth and one adult in relation to three pedestrians struck in the City of Brampton.

On October 26, 2019, a call was received at 6:15 p.m. for a report of a white SUV that had struck three pedestrians on sidewalk in the area of Elgin Drive and Mclaughlin Road. The vehicle a white Honda Pilot SUV had then fled the area heading northbound on Mclaughlin Rd.

All three male victims were from the Brampton area a 17-year-old and 18 year-old received non-life threatening injuries, the third victim a 17-year-old was transport to a trauma center and remains in stable condition.   

On November 3, 2019, two males, a 18-year-old from Brampton and a young person were arrested in the City of Brampton in relation to this incident.  The arrested persons were charged with Attempt Murder x 3, Assault and Fail to Remain. They were both held for bail hearing, they attended the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton on November 4, 2019.

A general provision of the Youth Criminal Justice Act (Y.C.J.A.) prohibits the release of the name of a Young Person and, therefore, the identity of the Young Persons charged in this investigation is protected.

Police are continuing to asking for public assistance in checking their home security surveillance/dash cam footage from October 26, 2019 between 6:00 p.m. and 6:30 p.m., if you reside within the red highlighted area or were driving through, please check your video footage for a white Honda Pilot SUV.
