Quick Response Results in Robbery Suspect Arrest & Firearm Seizure
Region of Peel – Investigators from the Central Robbery Bureau have charged a 34-year-old man of no fixed address in relation to an armed robbery in Mississauga.
On Sunday, May 4, 2025, the victim was working at a retail store located in the area of Lakeshore Road East and Hurontario Street in Mississauga. At approximately 8:15 a.m., it is alleged that a male suspect entered the establishment with his face covered, pointed a firearm at the victim and made a demand for currency. The suspect then fled the store on foot. The victim did not sustain any physical injuries.
12 Division patrol officers were able to quickly locate the suspect a short distance away and placed him under arrest. During the arrest, a firearm and ammunition were found and seized.
Kevan Smith has been arrested and charged with the following offences:
- Robbery
- Disguise with Intent
- Knowledge of an Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
- Careless Use of a Firearm
- Possession of a Loaded Prohibited or Restricted Firearm
- Carry Concealed Weapon
- Point Firearm
- Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited Device
- Breach of Probation Order
At the time of his arrest, Smith was on probation for a previous violent offence. He was held for a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton.
