Man Charged After Fleeing From Police
Region of Peel – Investigators from Road Safety Services have laid several charges against a man after he fled from a traffic stop.
On Friday, March 10, 2023, at 9:40 a.m., officers observed a heavy tractor-trailer allegedly driving in a “no heavy trucks” zone in the area of Williams Parkway and Dixie Road in Brampton. Officers conducted a traffic stop, and after speaking briefly with the driver, the driver fled at a high rate of speed. Officers did not engage in a pursuit due to the high speeds and threat to public safety.

Officers did not engage with the vehicle. A short distance away at Goreway Drive and Steeles Avenue in Brampton, the tractor-trailer was allegedly involved a collision with another vehicle and failed to stop at the scene of the collision.
