Homicide and Missing Persons Bureau Arrest Male in 6th Homicide of the Year

Region of PeelInvestigators from the Homicide and Missing Persons Bureau have arrested a male in the region’s 6th homicide of 2019.

On Monday May 13, 2019 at approximately 8:56 a.m. Peel Regional Police responded to a 911 call at a residence in the area of Bramalea Rd and Gates of Bramalea in the City of Brampton.  Upon arrival, officers located a single victim with obvious signs of trauma. 

The victim, Bao Lian Li, an 82 year-old woman from Brampton, was pronounced at the scene.

Peel Regional Police arrested and charged 81 year-old Brampton resident, Lu Hong Liang, with Second Degree Murder.  Liang appeared in the Ontario Court of Justice on Monday afternoon.

The Homicide and Missing Persons Bureau are continuing to investigate the offence and ask that anyone with information relating to this investigation, to call investigators at the Homicide and Missing Persons Bureau at (905) 453-2121, ext. 3205.
