Search Warrant Results In Firearm Seizure
Region of Peel – Investigators from the 11 Division Criminal Investigations Bureau (CIB) have charged four Mississauga men with firearm related offences, following a stolen vehicle investigation.
On Monday, November 13, 2023, at approximately 7:35 a.m., 11 Division patrol officers investigated a stolen vehicle in the area of Erin Mills Parkway & North Sheridan Way in Mississauga. An investigation was commenced, which led the investigators to execute a search warrant at an accommodation facility in that area.
As a result, police seized an illegal 45 Calibre Semi-Automatic handgun and ammunition. The following four men were arrested and charged with numerous criminal offences.
Sufiyan Naqvi, a 22-year-old man from Mississauga was charged with the following offences:
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime X2
- Possession of Break-in Instruments
- Possession of Prohibited Firearm with Ammunition
- Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of Firearm
- Careless Storage of a Firearm
- Possession of a Prohibited Device or Ammunition for a Dangerous Purpose
- Possession of Automobile Master Key
- Possession of Device to Obtain Computer Service
- Fail to Comply with Release Order
Guled Abdullahi, a 22-year-old man from Mississauga was charged with the following offences
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime X2
- Possession of Break-in Instruments
- Possession of Prohibited Firearm with Ammunition
- Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of Firearm
- Careless Storage of a Firearm
- Possession of a Prohibited Device or Ammunition for a Dangerous Purpose
- Possession of Automobile Master Key
- Possession of Device to Obtain Computer Service
Ediris Moallin, a 22-year-old man from Mississauga was charged with the following offences
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime X2
- Possession of Break-in Instruments
- Possession of Prohibited Firearm with Ammunition
- Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of Firearm
- Careless Storage of a Firearm
- Possession of a Prohibited Device or Ammunition for a Dangerous Purpose
- Possession of Automobile Master Key
- Possession of Device to Obtain Computer Service
Waheeb Ahmed, a 22-year-old man from Mississauga was charged with the following offences
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime X2
- Possession of Break-in Instruments
- Possession of Prohibited Firearm with Ammunition
- Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of Firearm
- Careless Storage of a Firearm
- Possession of a Prohibited Device or Ammunition for a Dangerous Purpose
- Possession of Automobile Master Key
- Possession of Device to Obtain Computer Service
All four men were all held for bail hearings and appeared before the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton.
