Arrest made in Dangerous Driving Investigation

Region of Peel – On Saturday, October 21st 2023, uniformed officers from 22 Division attended College Plaza in Brampton after receiving multiple calls for vehicles driving erratically within the parking lot.

While on scene, officers investigated 26 year-old Gurprit Singh from Brampton for operating a Black Jeep Wrangler in a dangerous manner within the parking lot. After a brief interaction with police, Gurprit fled from the officers, accelerating recklessly through a crowded parking lot and striking a traffic sign on the way out while trying to evade his arrest.

An arrest warrant was issued for Gurprit, and on Tuesday March 26th 2024, he was taken into custody by officers from 22 Division and charged with the following offences:

• Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle
• Obstruct Peace Officer
• Flight from a Peace Officer

Gurprit was held in custody for a bail hearing.
