Seeking Witnesses In Brampton Fail to Remain Collision

Region of Peel – Investigators from the Major Collision Bureau are currently investigating a fail to remain collision in the City of Brampton, which resulted in the victim, a pedestrian, receiving serious injuries. 

On Sunday September 26, 2021, at approximately 6:45 p.m., the victim, a 66-year-old woman, was utilizing the crosswalk at James Potter Road and Ashby Field Road in the City of Brampton, when she was struck by a vehicle. The driver of the vehicle stopped for a brief period of time, and then fled the area without rendering assistance to the pedestrian. 

The pedestrian was transported to a trauma centre with serious injuries.

The vehicle involved in this incident is a dark colored newer model Ford Escape SUV.  The driver has been described as a man, black; 25 years in age, short hair, 6 feet tall, medium build, and was wearing dark colored clothing.

Investigators are appealing for witnesses in the area who witnessed the collision, anyone with dashcam footage or anyone with any information on the suspect or vehicle is asked to call investigators with the Major Collision Bureau at  905-453–2121, extension 3710.  Anonymous information may also be submitted by calling Peel Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477), by visiting PeelCrimeStoppers.ca.
