Search Warrant Leads to Seizure of Drugs and a Firearm
Region of Peel – Officers from the Specialized Enforcement Bureau (SEB) have arrested and charged a 32-year-old man and a 31-year-old woman from Brampton with firearm-related offences.
On Saturday, September 9, 2023, investigators and the Tactical Unit executed a search warrant at a residence and on a vehicle near Arrowview Drive and Donald Ficht Crescent in Brampton. As a result of the warrant, a loaded Glock 26 Gen4 compact, with ammunition and drugs, was seized. Jonathan Chin and Chanel McDonald were arrested.
Jonathan Chin is charged with the following offences:
- Possession of Prohibited Firearm with Ammo
- Possession of Firearm Knowing its Possession Unauthorized
- Possession of a Prohibited Device
- Possession of a Prohibited Device
- Possession of a Prohibited Device
- Tampering with Serial Number
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime
- Possession of a Controlled Substance
Chanel McDonald is charged with the following offences:
- Possession of Prohibited Firearm with Ammo
- Possession of Firearm Knowing its Possession Unauthorized
- Possession of a Prohibited Device
- Tampering with Serial Number
They were both held for bail hearings and appeared before the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton.
