Traffic Stop Leads to Firearm Seizure

Region of Peel – Patrol officers from 22 Division with the assistance of 22 Division Criminal Investigation Bureau have charged a man from St. Catherines with firearm and drug related offences.

On Friday, November 18, 2022, at approximately 2:56 a.m., frontline patrol officers from 22 Division investigated a vehicle in the area of Kennedy Rd & Queen St in Brampton.

As a result, officers seized a loaded Norinco NP762 handgun and a quantity of illegal substance believed to be cocaine.

Boysie Murray, a 41-year-old man from St. Catherines, was arrested and charged with the following offences:

  • Obstruct Peace Officer
  • Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession Firearm
  • Occupant of Motor vehicle Knowing there was a Firearm
  • Possession of a Loaded Prohibited or Restricted Firearm
  • Tampering with a Serial Number
  • Possession of Firearm, Contrary to Order X 3
  • Possession of a Controlled Substance
  • Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking

Boysie Murray was held for a bail hearing and appeared before the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton.
