Brampton Woman Arrested in Possession of Prohibited Firearm

Region of Peel – Investigators from the Peel Police 21 Division Criminal Investigations Bureau (CIB) have arrested and charged a Brampton resident with numerous offences and seized a loaded prohibited pistol. 

On Tuesday, November 15, 2022, patrol officers responded to a motel in the area of Queen Street and Airport Road in Brampton after a firearm was located.

Investigators from 21 Division CIB attended and found a fully loaded 9mm Compact Glock pistol. 

As a result of the investigation, 21-year-old Taylor SCHNEIDER was arrested and charged with the following Criminal Code offences;

  • Unauthorized Possession of a Loaded Prohibited Firearm. 
  • Possession of a Firearm Without Being the Holder of a Licence.
  • Possession of a Firearm knowing that the Serial Number has been altered, defaced or removed. 
  • Careless Storage of a Firearm. 
  • Fail to Comply with Release Order.

Schneider remains in custody pending a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice, Brampton, on November 16, 2022. At the time of her arrest, Schneider was prohibited from carrying weapons stemming from prior charges.

Additional culprits are being sought by Detectives as the investigation continues.
