Search Warrants Executed in an Attempt Murder Investigation

Region of Peel - Investigators from 12 Division’s Criminal Investigation Bureau have arrested a man and seized a firearm following an investigation into an altercation that occurred on Saturday April 27th 2024, at 1:30am.

The altercation occurred at a licenced premise in the area of Dixie Road and Eglinton Avenue West, between an unknown suspect and a victim. The suspect was believed to be in possession of a firearm during this incident but fled the scene before police arrived.

Officers from 12 Division launched an investigation to identify the suspect involved, and on May 28th, 2024, investigators located the suspect at an address in Toronto. His arrest resulted in the seizure of an illegal firearm and a quantity of drugs.

Tyvel Brewster-Peters, a 26-year-old man from Toronto, has been charged with the following offences:

  • Occupant of Motor Vehicle Knowing there was Firearm x2
  • Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of Firearm x2
  • Possession of a Loaded Prohibited or Restricted Firearm x2
  • Disguise with Intent
  • Carrying concealed weapon
  • Obstruct Peace Officer
  • Possession of Opioid

He was held in custody for a bail hearing and attended the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton.
