Canada Wide Warrant Leads to Third Arrest in 2023 Armed Home Invasion

Region of Peel – Investigators from the Peel Regional Police Central Robbery Bureau have charged an adult male in connection to a home invasion robbery from 2023 that occurred in Mississauga.

On Monday, Oct. 23, 2023, four suspects attended an address near Mavis Road and Bristol Road West in Mississauga. The suspects wore hard hats and carried clipboards, forced entry into the residence while the victims were inside. Once inside the residence, the suspects violently assaulted and forcibly confined the victims while brandishing a handgun and making demands for property and money. The victims suffered numerous serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Following a lengthy investigation, investigators identified the third individual, Carlos Sance Castro, a 25-year-old man from Calgary with respect to the above incident. 

A Canada wide arrest warrant was issued and on Jan. 29, 2025, Sance Castro was located in Calgary, Alberta by Calgary Police Service. He was arrested on the strength of the warrant and transported back to the Region of Peel.

Sance Castro has been charged with the following offences:

  • Robbery
  • Forcible Confinement
  • Assault Cause Bodily Harm

Sance Castro was held for a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton.

This investigation remains ongoing and police anticipate more charges could be laid.
