Arrests Made in Brampton Homicide Investigation

Region of Peel – Investigators from the Homicide and Missing Persons Bureau have arrested two men in relation to a homicide investigation in Brampton.

On Tuesday, October 12, 2021, at 12:54 a.m., emergency services received a call reporting a person had been shot at a plaza at Dixie Road and Peter Robertson Boulevard, in the City of Brampton.

Upon arrival, emergency services located a man suffering from what appeared to be a gun shot wound.  He was transported to a trauma centre where he died as a result of his injuries.  

On October 20, 2021, investigators charged Zachary O’Gorman, a 22-year-old man from Brampton, with the alleged offence of First Degree Murder. Investigators have also charged Gurpreet Singh, a 29-year-old man from Brampton, with the alleged offence of Accessory After the Fact to Murder. They were both held for a bail hearing and appeared at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton on October 21, 2021.

Their commitment to providing answers to the family, friends and loved ones of the victim, Amanjot Bains, has led to this expeditious arrest and helps bring some closure in this tragic incident,” said Nick Milinovich, Deputy Chief of Investigative Services.
