Brampton Tow Truck Driver Charged

Region of Peel – On Sunday, January 9, 2022, Peel Regional Police were made aware of a video circulating on social media of a tow truck driving dangerously in the City of Brampton.

On Thursday, January 13, 2022, officers from the Safer Roads Team arrested 31-year-old Kwateng Phelan Asampong of Brampton. He has been charged with: 

  • Dangerous Operation
  • Race a Motor Vehicle
  • Attempt to Pass – Roadway not Clear
  • Red Light Proceed Before Green 
  • Obstruct Plate
  • Fail to Signal
  • Drive with Windshield Colour Coated

Kwateng Phelan Asampong will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton, on March 21, 2022, in answer to the charges. Brampton by-law was made aware of the incident and will be launching an investigation with potential further charges.
