Project Mastard Presentation

Posted On Thursday November 28, 2019

In 2015, members of the Peel Regional Police Central Robbery Bureau, Intelligence Services Technical Support Unit and Mobile Support Services assisted the Montreal Police Service Joint Forces Operation dubbed “Project Mastard”.  This year long investigation centred on a group of career criminals infamously known as ‘Montreal’s West End Boys’.  This crew were found to be responsible for several armoured car heists wherein security guards were handcuffed, assaulted and injured and resulting in the theft of millions of dollars in cash.

The judicial process has now been completed with each of the offenders receiving jail terms between 8-15 years.

On November 28, 2019 members of the Montreal Police Service Major Crime Section attended Peel Police and presented members of the investigative team with a plaque recognizing the significant efforts of our members.  Also in attendance was Mr. Yves Riopel from the armoured car company Garda who thanked the team on behalf of the staff and management.

Congratulations on a job well done!
