Appeal for Victims in Sexual Assault Investigation

Region of Peel – Investigators from the Peel Regional Police Special Victims Unit have charged a ‘youth leader and worship director’ from a Brampton church, following a sexual assault investigation.

Between May 1, 2024, and August 15, 2024, a 13-year-old victim met with the accused on various occasions and was allegedly sexually assaulted.

On Friday, August 30, 2024, police arrested and charged Adam Watson, a 32-year-old man from Brampton with the following Criminal Code offences:  

  • Sexual Assault
  • Sexual Interference

He was held in custody and appeared before the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton for a bail hearing where he was released on his own recognizance.

Adam Watson has been working at a church in Brampton for approximately three years. 

This investigation remains ongoing, and investigators believe there may be additional victims.
