Arrests Made in Armed Robbery of a Pharmacy

Region of Peel– Officers from the Central Robbery Bureau have arrested three individuals in relation to an armed pharmacy robbery that occurred in Mississauga.  

On Monday, January 4, 2021, at approximately 4:25 p.m., an armed robbery occurred at a pharmacy located in the area of Derry Road and Ninth Line in the City of Mississauga.  Two suspects entered the business armed with both a handgun and a conductive energy weapon. The suspects demanded prescription drugs and cash from the employees, but were unsuccessful and fled to a waiting vehicle being driven by a third suspect. There were no physical injuries to any of the victims.

Peel Regional Police located the vehicle a short time later, in the area of Highway 7 and Pine Valley Drive in the City of Vaughan, where it appeared the occupants were preparing to commit another robbery.  Peel Regional Police Emergency Support Services arrested the occupants of the vehicle with the assistance of the Central Robbery Bureau.  A conductive energy weapon and a loaded firearm were recovered at the time of the arrest.

Eliazar Henry, an 18-year-old male from Mississauga has been charged with Robbery, Wear Disguise with Intent, Possession of Stolen Property and several firearms related charges.

A 16-year-old male youth from Brampton has been charged with Robbery with a Firearm, Wear Disguise with Intent and Possession of Stolen Property.

A 17-year-old male youth from Brampton has been charged with Robbery with a Firearm, Wear Disguise with Intent, Possession of a Prohibited Weapon, and Possession of Stolen Property.

The three accused persons were held for a bail hearing and appeared at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton on Tuesday, January 5, 2021.

A general provision of the Youth Criminal Justice Act (Y.C.J.A.) prohibits the release of the name of a Young Person and, therefore, the identities of the Young Persons charged in this investigation are protected.
