Arrests Made Following Four Armed Convenience Store Robberies Within 24 Hours

Region of Peel – Investigators from the Peel Regional Police Central Robbery Bureau charged a 15-year-old male youth with four armed convenience store robberies in the City of Brampton.

It is alleged that over 24 hours beginning in the early morning of March 16, 2023, a teenage male and two other unidentified persons robbed four convenience stores at gunpoint in Brampton. These suspects targeted currency and other property from within the stores. The victims sustained no physical injuries during these armed robberies. 

On March 16, 2023, at approximately 4:00 a.m., an armed robbery occurred at a convenience store in Brampton, and investigators identified the suspect. A search warrant was executed later at a residence in Brampton. The suspect was arrested inside, and property, including an imitation firearm, was recovered.

A 15-year-old male youth from Brampton has been charged with the following Criminal Code offences:

· Robbery X4

· Wearing a Disguise with Intent X4

· Using an Imitation Firearm x4

The young person appeared before the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton for a bail hearing. This remains an ongoing investigation, and investigators anticipate further arrests and charges.

A general provision of the Youth Criminal Justice Act (Y.C.J.A.) prohibits the release of the name of a Young Person, and, therefore, the identity of the Young Person charged in this investigation is protected.
