Loaded Firearm in Vehicle Leads to Arrest of 3 Men in Mississauga

Region of Peel – Officers from the Peel Regional Police Strategic and Tactical Enforcement Program (STEP) have charged two Toronto men and a Brampton man with firearm-related offences after a loaded firearm was located inside a vehicle in Mississauga.

On Saturday, November 20, 2021, at approximately 9:45 p.m., officers from STEP investigated a vehicle near a residential building in the area of Netherbrae Road and Rexwood Road in the City of Mississauga.

As a result, officers seized a loaded Remington RP45 .45 caliber handgun with the serial number removed.

 

Osman Sillah, a 26-year-old man from Brampton, was charged with the following offences:

· Breach of recognizance (no weapons) 

· 95(1) Possession of a loaded restricted firearm

· 92(1) possess firearm without being the holder of a licence

· 108(1)(b) tampering with serial number of firearm

· 94, unauthorized possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle

· 31(2) LLA. Open container of liquor in other than licenced premise

 

 Johnathan Woods, a 30-year-old-man from Toronto, was charged with the following offences:

· Breach of recognizance (no weapons) 

· 95(1) Possession of a loaded restricted firearm

· 92(1) possess firearm without being the holder of a licence

· 108(1)(b) tampering with serial number of firearm

· 94, unauthorized possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle

· 31(2) LLA. Open container of liquor in other than licenced premise

 

Elijah Manning a 23-year-old-man from Toronto was charged with the following offences: 

· 95(1) Possession of a loaded restricted firearm

· 92(1) possess firearm without being the holder of a licence

· 108(1)(b) tampering with serial number of firearm

· 94, unauthorized possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle

· 12(1) Cannabis Act, cannabis readily available 

· 31(2) LLA. Open container of liquor in other than licenced premise

 

All three men were held for a bail hearing, and appeared before the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton on Sunday, November 21, 2021.
