Investigation Leads to Firearms Seizure
Region of Peel - Officers from the Strategic Tactical Enforcement Policing (STEP) team have recovered two loaded firearms after a proactive investigation.
On Friday, September 27th, 2024, at approximately 4:48pm, STEP officers investigated two individuals under the Controlled Drug and Substances Act, in the area of Rutherford Road South and Clark Boulevard in the City of Brampton.
As a result of the investigation, Rodell Rohan Nancoo, a 22-year-old man was charged with the following offences:
- Unauthorized Possession of Firearm
- Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of Firearm
- Possession of a Prohibited Device or Ammunition
- Possession of a Loaded Prohibited or Restricted Firearm
- Careless Storage of Firearm
- Occupant of Motor Vehicle Knowing There was a Firearm
- Carry Concealed Weapon
- Possession of Firearm, etc. Contrary to Order
- Fraud Under $5000
- Possession Property Obtained by Crime.
- Drive-Hand Held Communication Device
- Driver Motor Vehicle, Fail to Display Two Plates
- Drive While Under Suspension
Alex Dominick Pennant, a 24-year-old man was charged with the following offences:
- Unauthorized Possession of Firearm
- Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of Firearm
- Possession of a Prohibited Device or Ammunition
- Possession of a Loaded Prohibited or Restricted Firearm
- Careless Storage of Firearm
- Occupant of Motor Vehicle Knowing there was a Firearm
- Carry Concealed Weapon
- Possession Property Obtained by Crime
Both suspects were held pending a lengthy bail hearing.
