Public Assistance Sought to identify the Rider of a Motorcycle

Region of Peel – Investigators from the Peel Regional Police Major Collision Bureau are seeking the public’s assistance in a dangerous driving investigation.

On July 1st, 2025, at approximately 3:20 p.m., police attempted to stop an off-road motorcycle-style bike that was driving erratically on the roadway near Eglington Ave and Erin Mills Parkway.  The vehicle was observed performing wheelies and other dangerous manoeuvres.

While trying to avoid police, the motorcycle made contact with a fully marked police cruiser.

A uniformed officer attempting to arrest the driver was struck and injured by the vehicle as it fled at a high rate of speed, accelerating recklessly through the crowded roadway.

The officer attended a local hospital for treatment, sustaining a serious, but non-life-threatening injury, which resulted from the collision.

Investigators from the Major Collision Bureau are requesting the public’s help in identifying the rider of the motorcycle, who is described as:

Driver:

  • Young male between the age of 15 and 20
  • Wearing a black helmet
  • Black sweater
  • Black pants.

The motorcycle is believed to be:

  • Electric powered
  • Dark coloured

Anyone with information on this incident, or dashcam footage in the area of Erin Mills Parkway and Eglinton Avenue at the time that this occurred is asked to contact investigators from the Major Collision Bureau at 905-453-3311 Ext. 3707.
