Dangerous Driver Arrested and Charged
Region of Peel – Officers from the Peel Regional Police Safer Roads Team (SRT) with the assistance of the 22 Division Community Intervention and Response Team (CIRT) and Strategic Enforcement Officers have arrested a Mississauga man for several dangerous driving incidents in Mississauga.
In September 2024, SRT officers became aware of several viral Instagram videos depicting a rider filming himself on a Surron dirt bike, performing dangerous maneuvers such as wheelies, and driving in an extremely dangerous manner.
On Friday, October 25, 2024, Kenny Thomas, a 24-year-old resident of Mississauga, was arrested and charged with the following:
- Dangerous Operation (x3)
- Flight from Peace Officer (x2)
- Mischief (x2)
- Obstruct Police (x2)
- Stunt Driving (x5)
- Drive Motor Vehicle – No Licence (x4)
- Disobey Stop Sign – Fail to Stop
- Red Light – Fail to Stop
He was held pending a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton.
SRT officers utilize evidence-based enforcement to target aggressive and high-risk drivers within Peel Region. SRT officers target offenders using various investigative tactics and analytics to track high-risk drivers that pose an increased risk to public safety within our community.
