Charges Laid After a Carjacking in Mississauga

 Region of Peel – Investigators from the Central Robbery Bureau have charged three men involved in a carjacking in Mississauga.  

On September 7, 2021, at approximately 9:00 p.m., the victim was sitting in his vehicle in the area of Goreway Drive and Derry Road East in the City of Mississauga. At this time, one of the suspects approached the victim, produced an imitation firearm and demanded the victim exit the vehicle. The victim complied, the suspect entered the driver’s side, and the two remaining suspects entered the vehicle and fled the area. No injuries were sustained as a result of the incident.

At approximately 10:54 p.m., all three suspects were located and arrested in the area of Erin Mills Parkway and Credit Valley Road, Mississauga.  They were also found to be in possession of offence related property at the time of the arrest.

On Tuesday, September 7, 2021, investigators charged 19-year-old Treyvaun Gomez of Mississauga with the following charges:

  • Robbery 
  • Wear Disguise
  • Use Imitation Firearm 

Investigators arrested and charged a 16-year-old youth from the City of Brampton with the following charges:

  • Robbery 
  • Wear Disguise
  • Use Imitation Firearm 

Investigators arrested and charged a 14-year-old youth from the City of Mississauga with the following charges:

  • Robbery
  • Wear Disguise 
  • Use Imitation Firearm
  • Breach of Recognizance

All charged parties were held pending a bail hearing and appeared before the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton on September 8, 2021.

A general provision of the Youth Criminal Justice Act (Y.C.J.A.) prohibits the release of the name of a Young Person and, therefore, the identity of the Young Persons charged in this investigation is protected.
