Arrest made in Two Stranger Assault Investigations
Region of Peel – Investigators from the 12 Division Criminal Investigations Bureau have charged a 32-year-old man for two unprovoked assaults in a park in Mississauga.
On Thursday, September 19, 2024, just after 1:00 p.m., the victim, a 73-year-old man from Mississauga, was walking near the area of Applewood Hills Trail and Bloor Street when the suspect approached the victim from behind and struck him with a weapon. The suspect fled the area. The victim was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
On Friday, September 27, 2024, at approximately 12:30 p.m., the victim, a 77-year-old man from Mississauga, was walking near the area of Applewood Hills Trail and Bloor Street when the suspect approached the victim from behind and struck him with a weapon. The suspect fled the area. The victim was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
On Friday, September 27, 2024, Marcin Golebiowski, a 32-year-old man from Mississauga was charged with the following offences:
- Aggravated Assault
- Disobey Court Order
- Assault with weapon
Marcin was held pending a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton.
