Traffic Stop Leads to Gun Recovery

Region of Peel -Officers from 21 Division have charged two men and a woman with firearm related offences.  

On Sunday, June 9, 2019 at 1:28pm, officers investigated a vehicle in the area of Derry Road and Rexwood Road in Mississauga. Officers observed marijuana readily available to the driver and as a result of a search conducted under the Cannabis Control Act, crack, cocaine and oxycontin were located as well as a loaded firearm.

Kyle Abel, a 28 year old man from Milton was charged with the following offences:

1)      Possession of a Forged Document
2)      Possession of a Firearm Knowing not the Holder of a Licence
3)      Possession of Loaded Prohibited Firearm Without Licence
4)      Occupant of Motor Vehicle with Knowledge of Firearm
5)      Possession of Ammunition Knowing it’s Possession is Unauthorized
6)      Breach of Probation Order
7)      Possession Contrary to Order
8)      Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking (X2)

Kyle Abel was held for a Bail Hearing and will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in the City of Brampton on Monday, June 10, 2019.

Shanice Francis, a 27 year old woman from Brampton was charged with the following offences:

1)      Possession of a Firearm Knowing not the Holder of a Licence
2)      Possession of a Loaded Prohibited Firearm Without Licence
3)      Occupant of Motor Vehicle with Knowledge of Firearm
4)      Possession of Ammunition Knowing it’s Possession is Unauthorized 

Shanice Francis will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in the City of Brampton at a later date.

Jermaine Douglas, a 28 year old man from Mississauga was charged with the following offences:

1)      Possession of a Firearm Knowing not the Holder of a Licence
2)      Possession of Loaded Prohibited Firearm Without Licence
3)      Occupant of Motor Vehicle with Knowledge of Firearm
4)      Possession of Ammunition Knowing it’s Possession us Unauthorized 

Jermaine Douglas was held for a Bail Hearing and will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in the City of Brampton of Monday, June 10, 2019.
