Investigation Leads to Firearm Seizure
Region of Peel – Investigators from the 12 Division Criminal Investigation Bureau have recovered a stolen firearm as a result of an investigation in the City of Mississauga.
On Tuesday, October 29, 2024, an investigation began into a complaint of a threatening that occurred in the area of the Mississauga Valleys, in the City of Mississauga. Subsequently, a search warrant was executed and a firearm was recovered.
Nigel Rampersad, a 36-year-old man from Chelmsford, has been charged with the following offences:
- Utter Threats to Cause Death or Bodily Harm (x3)
- Knowledge of an Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
- Careless Storage of Firearm, Weapon Prohibited Device or Ammunition (x2)
- Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited Device or Ammunition
- Possess firearm with altered serial number
- Possession of Firearm Contrary to Order (x2)
He was held for a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton.
