Search Warrant Results in Arrest and Seized Replica Firearm
Region of Peel – Officers from the Peel Regional Police 12 Division Criminal Investigation Bureau (CIB) arrested and charged a Georgetown resident and seized a replica firearm following a threatening incident in Mississauga.
On March 14, 2023, Uniform officers responded to a threatening call-for-service in Mississauga, where it was believed that someone had allegedly brandished a firearm.
On March 20, 2023, officers from 12 Division CIB, with the assistance of PRP Tactical, executed a Criminal Code search warrant for a vehicle and a residence in Georgetown, which yielded a quantity of illicit drugs, prohibited weapons and a replica firearm/BB Gun. In addition, the suspect was found breaching multiple conditions of his previous release along with a weapons prohibition order.
Zenon Squire, a 30-year-old man from Georgetown, was arrested and held in custody for a bail hearing before the Ontario Court of Justice. He has been charged with the following alleged Criminal Code offences:
- Point Firearm
- Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking
- Utter Threats
- Fail to Comply with Release Order
- Breach of Weapons Prohibition
- Possession of a Prohibited Weapon
