Central Robbery Bureau make Arrests in Pharmacy Robberies

 Region of Peel – Investigators from the Central Robbery Bureau have arrested two males in relation to a pharmacy robbery in the City of Mississauga.

On September 22, 2022, at approximately 1:33 pm, two suspects attended a pharmacy in the area of Eglington Avenue West and McLaughlin Road in Mississauga. At this time, a demand was made for narcotics and money, at which point the victim complied and handed over the items. Both suspects fled in a vehicle.   

Investigators from the Central Robbery Bureau located and arrested two male parties shortly after the robbery. It is alleged that one male arrested was involved in a series of pharmacy robberies that took place between January and September of 2022.

A search warrant was executed at a residence in Mississauga where offence-related property, including a BB gun and clothing, were located.

Billal ISMAIL, a 26-year-old man from Mississauga, has been charged with the following offences:

  • Robbery x 3
  • Robbery with a Firearm x 4
  • Wear Disguise while Committing an Indictable Offence x7
  • Use Imitation Firearm x 4
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime

 Billal Ismail was held for a bail hearing and appeared before the Ontario Court of Justice on September 23, 2022.

Abdullahi Ali, a 22-year-old from Mississauga, has been charged with the following offence: 

  • Possession of Stolen Property. 

He was released on an Undertaking and will attend the Ontario Court of Justice on November 22, 2022.

These investigations are ongoing, and some suspects remain outstanding.
