Central Robbery Bureau Makes Arrest in Series of Robberies

Region of Peel– Investigators from the Central Robbery Bureau have arrested and charged a 33-year-old man from Brampton related to a series of robberies in the City of Brampton.

Between Friday, February 26, 2021 and Tuesday, April 6, 2021, the suspect is alleged to have committed four robberies in the City of Brampton, three being financial robberies and one being a retail robbery.

On Friday, February 26, 2021 the suspect attended a financial institution in the area of Queen Street and Main Street in the City of Brampton, where he passed a note to a bank employee making a demand for money. The suspect obtained a quantity of currency and fled the scene.

On Thursday, April 1, 2021 the suspect attended the same financial institution and again passed a note to a bank employee making a demand for money. The suspect obtained a quantity of currency and fled the scene.

On Saturday, April 3, 2021 the suspect used a knife and demanded money at a convenience store in the area of Queen Street and West Drive in the City of Brampton. The suspect did not obtain any property and fled the scene.

On Tuesday, April 6, 2021 the suspect again robbed another financial institution in the area of Dixie Road and Queen Street in Brampton. He demanded money and again passed a note to the bank employee. The suspect obtained a quantity of currency and fled the scene.

Investigators were already conducting a detailed criminal investigation into the previous three robberies when the fourth robbery occurred. The investigation took them to the area of Queen Street and West Drive in Brampton, where the suspect was arrested approximately two hours after the last robbery had occurred. He was found in possession of robbery related property at the time of the arrest.

There were no physical injuries in these series of robberies.

Nouradine Ahmed has been charged with four counts of Robbery and four counts of Wear Disguise with Intent. He was also in Breach of his Parole Order stemming from robbery related convictions from 2017. He will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice for a bail hearing on Wednesday, April 7, 2021.
