Firearm Seized During Traffic Stop
Region of Peel – Investigators from the 21 Division Criminal Investigation Bureau have charged two individuals with several firearm related offences after a traffic stop in Brampton.
On March 17, 2025, uniform patrol officers investigated the occupants of a motor vehicle for a Cannabis Act offence in the area of Torbram Road and Sandalwood Parkway in Brampton. During the investigation, one of the occupants fled on foot. After a brief foot pursuit, the male was arrested, and a search located a firearm on his person. A second male occupant of the vehicle was also arrested and charged with firearm offences.
O’Neil Vallance-Simmonds, 30-year-old man from Brampton was charged with the following offences:
- Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
- Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
- Occupant of a Motor Vehicle Knowing There was a Firearm
- Possession of a Loaded, Prohibited or Restricted Firearm
- Possession of a Prohibited Device or Ammunition Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized
- Possession of a Firearm Contrary to Order
- Obstruct Police
- Fail to Comply with a Release Order
- Possession of Counterfeit Mark
Elias Ayala, 22-year-old man from Brampton was charged with the following offences:
- Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
- Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
- Occupant of a Motor Vehicle Knowing There was a Firearm
- Possession of a Loaded, Prohibited or Restricted Firearm
- Possession of a Prohibited Device or Ammunition Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized
Both parties were held for a bail hearing and attended the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton.
