Man Arrested for Having a Firearm

Region of Peel– On Saturday June 8, 2019, shortly after 6 a.m., a 32-year-old man from Brampton attended a residence in the area of Torbram Road and Queen Street in Brampton, while armed with a handgun.

The residence was that of a woman the man used to be in a relationship with and upon arrival he was denied entry by the woman, however forced his way inside through another door. An interaction occurred inside the residence at which time the man pointed a firearm at the victim. The victim was able to flee to another part of the house and called 9-1-1.

Officers quickly attended the residence and located the man inside of the house where he was arrested. A loaded .40 caliber handgun was located on the man.

The man was charged with Break and Enter, Point Firearm, Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm, Possession of a Loaded Prohibited or Restricted Firearm, Carrying a Concealed Weapon and Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose. The accused appeared at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton for a bail hearing on June 8, 2019.
