Arrest Made in Sexual Assault Investigation
Region of Peel– Investigators from the Special Victims Unit have arrested and charged a man in connection to multiple sexual assault incidents, which took place in Brampton.
On Jan.16, 2025, the Special Victims Unit began an investigation after a victim came forward to report historical incidents that occurred in Brampton. Between the summer of 2023 and September 2024, the female victim was approached on multiple occasions by the accused along the pathway that connects Williams Parkway & Bovaird Drive, at the rear of St. Maria Goretti Elementary School and Fred Kee Park.
The incidents allegedly began by the suspect engaging in general conversation with the victim, which then escalated to the suspect touching the victim in a sexual manner. There were no reports of physical injuries.
As a result of this investigation, O’Neil Reid, a 61-year-old man from Brampton was arrested and charged with the following offences:
- Sexual Assault X2
- Sexual Interference
Reid was released with conditions and will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton at a later date.
Investigators are concerned that there may be additional victims and are urging them to come forward.
