Arrests Made in Human Trafficking Investigation
Region of Peel – Officers from the Specialized Enforcement Bureau – Vice and Human Trafficking Unit have arrested and charged a 19-year-old Toronto man in connection with a human trafficking investigation.
On Oct. 6, 2025, police located a woman who had been reported missing at an Airbnb in Mississauga. The woman was located with the suspect and in a state of crisis. The woman was brought to safety and disclosed that the suspect had taken control of various aspects of her life, including her identification and bank accounts, and had physically assaulted her.
As a result of the investigation, Henry Igboenyesi has been charged with the following Criminal Code offences:
- Advertising Sexual Services
- Communicating for the Purpose of Obtaining Sexual Services
- Exercising Control
- Trafficking in Persons
- Choking, Suffocating, or Strangling
- Withholding or Destroying Documents for the Purpose of Trafficking
- Receiving Financial or Other Benefits from Trafficking in Persons
- Receiving Material Benefits from Sexual Services
- Breach of Recognizance
The accused was held for a bail hearing and appeared before the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton.
Investigators believe there may be additional victims, particularly in the Greater Toronto Area, and Golden Horseshoe, and are encouraging them to contact them at 905-453-2121, extension 3555.
