Appeal for Assistance with Sexual Assault Investigation
Region of Peel– Investigators from the Special Victims Unit are looking for assistance in identifying any potential witnesses in relation to a sexual assault investigation following an incident that took place at a hospital near Bramalea Road & Bovaird Drive in Brampton.
On Sunday, August 18, 2024, at approximately 1:45 p.m., a 3-year-old child, who was seated in a stroller, was inside the hospital when the suspect approached and touched the child. Shortly thereafter, the suspect attended another area of the hospital and allegedly committed an indecent act witnessed by adult visitors within the facility.
Investigators identified and arrested Brandon Ramnath, a 31-year-old male from Brampton, who was charged with the following criminal offences:
- Sexual Assault
- Indecent Act in a Public Place
- Sexual Interference
He was held for a bail hearing and appeared before the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton
Investigators are encouraging any additional victims that may not have yet contacted police or anyone with information on this incident is asked to call the Special Victims Unit at 905-453-2121, extension 3460.
