Traffic Stop Leads to Drug and Firearm Charges

Region of Peel –Officers from 12 Division have charged a 28 year-old man and a 26 year-old woman from Mississauga with drug and firearm related offences.

On Monday, November 25, 2019 at approximately 10:30 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop for a Highway Traffic Act offence in the area of Britannia Road and Kennedy Road in the City of Mississauga. Further investigation resulted in both occupants of the vehicle being charged with drug and firearm related offences.   

The 28 year-old man and the 26 year-old woman from Mississauga have been charged with the following:

  • Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited Firearm
  • Possession of a Prohibited Device or Ammunition Knowing it’s Possession is Unauthorized
  • Tampering with Serial Number of a Firearm
  • Occupant of Motor Vehicle Knowing there was Unauthorized Possession of Firearm
  • Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking

They attended the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton for a bail hearing on Tuesday, November 26, 2019.
