Appeal for Witnesses in Fatal Fail To Remain Collision Investigation

Region of Peel – Investigators from the Major Collision Bureau are seeking the assistance from the public in the investigation of a fatal fail to remain collision that occurred on November 30, 2018 on Dundas Street East in the City of Mississauga.

On Friday, November 30, 2018 between 7:15 p.m. and 7:50 p.m. the victim, 54 year old Gianfranco (John) Zucatti, a father and local resident was struck by a vehicle as he crossed Dundas Street in the area of Dundas Street East and Wharton Way in the City of Mississauga.  Zucatti sustained fatal injuries and died at the scene.

Evidence at the scene has identified the involved vehicle as a 2017 – 2018 red Dodge Challenger.  This vehicle will be missing the right side mirror, will have damage to the right front headlight and front bumper.

Investigators are appealing for witnesses, who may have seen the collision or have video footage of the incident to contact investigators with the Major Collision Bureau at (905) 453-2121, ext. 3710.
