Four Young Persons Arrested Following Violent Carjacking in Brampton
Region of Peel – Investigators from Peel Regional Police Central Robbery Bureau have charged four young persons in connection to a violent carjacking that occurred in the city of Brampton.
It is alleged that on November 17, 2024, the victim was lured to meet one of the suspects in a parking lot near Goreway Drive and Queen Street East. Shortly after meeting, two other suspects attacked the victim from behind. He was choked and punched multiple times, rendering him unconscious. When the victim regained consciousness, he noted that his phone, wallet, and vehicle had been stolen. The victim was transported to an area hospital where he received treatment related to the attack.
The suspects traveled in the stolen car, picking up a fourth suspect along the way. Police located the vehicle near Kennedy Road and Twistleton Street in Caledon. Due to the violent circumstances surrounding the robbery, a high-risk vehicle stop was executed. All four suspects were arrested and held pending bail hearings at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton.
Police located and seized offence-related property and recovered the stolen vehicle.
A 13-year-old female youth from Kitchener is charged with Possession of Stolen Property.
A 14-year-old female youth from London is charged with Robbery and Possession of Stolen Property.
A 16-year-old and17-year-old male youths, both of Brampton, have been charged with the following offences:
- Robbery
- Wearing a Disguise with Intent
- Possession of Stolen Property.
One of the young persons was currently on a form of judicial release, and a second was wanted on an outstanding warrant.
A general provision of the Youth Criminal Justice Act (Y.C.J.A.) prohibits the release of the name of a Young Person, and, therefore, the identity of the Young Persons charged in this investigation is protected.
This investigation remains ongoing, and police anticipate more charges could be laid.
