Peel Police - Police Seeking Public’s Assistance in Identifying Deceased Man

July 20, 2010

Mississauga Investigators from the Major Collision Bureau are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a deceased man.

On Monday, July 19, 2010, at approximately 10:15 p.m., for reasons that are still under investigation, the unidentified man walked onto the railway tracks in the area of Alexandra Avenue. As he did, a westbound GO Transit train struck the man, killing him instantly.

The deceased man was not carrying any identification and, as a result, investigators are appealing to the public to assist in identifying him. He is described as white, possibly middle age, average height and weight and with straight black hair. He was wearing a black zip up fleece sweater with "office solutions" embroidered on the chest, a white shirt, khaki green cargo shorts, white socks and white New Balance, size 9.5, runners.

A bicycle that may have belonged to the man was found near the scene. It is described as a grey mountain bike, CCM model M5000, with plastic fenders.

Anyone with information regarding the man’s identity is asked to call investigators in the Major Collision Bureau at (905) 453-3311, ext. 3710.  Information may also be left anonymously by calling Peel Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477), by visiting www.peelcrimestoppers.ca, or by texting “PEEL”, followed by your tip to CRIMES (274637).
