Mississauga – Officers from the 12 Division Criminal Investigation Bureau, are investigating a theft that occurred at the Mississauga Sports Complex on Sunday July 12, 2015 between the hours of 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m.
The victim is an independent photo journalist, who was in attendance at the Mississauga Sports Complex, located at 5500 Rose Cherry Place, Mississauga for the purposes of covering events for the 2015 Pan Am/Parapan Am Games taking place there.
Sometime between 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. while there was a pause in the competitions, the victim placed his Canon 70D camera, with Canon 70 - 200 2.8 lens attached, on the ground in the ‘Press Area’ and walked out of the competition area. The victim returned and found that his camera and lens were missing and reported the theft to police.
Investigators have surveillance footage that captured the suspect committing the theft.
The suspect is described as being male, white, approximately 5’10”, wearing a khaki coloured cap, blue golf shirt and khaki coloured shorts.
