Crimes of the Week - Mississauga

Release #: 2009 - 23a

Break-In to Bank of Montreal

A Bank of Montreal was broken into, in the dead of night, and a call to Crime Stoppers could help investigators catch the criminals responsible.

On Thursday, August 6th, police responded to the BMO branch at 7145 Goreway Drive, in Mississauga.   There had been an initial report of a false alarm the previous evening, but when the branch manager arrived in the morning he was confronted with evidence of a break-in. The suspect, who was caught on camera, gained access to the branch and the vault with no signs of forced entry. A quantity of cash was taken in the theft.

The suspect was caught on camera, but was heavily disguised, with his face covered. The suspect is described as male, unknown racial origin, approximately 5’5’ tall with a slight build. He wore a blue and white striped long sleeve shirt with a hood, brown cargo style pants and a dark brimmed hat with a white band.
