Crime of the Week - Mississauga

PUBLIC’S ASSISTANCE REQUESTED IN STAIRWELL SEXUAL ASSAULT

 

 

Peel Crime Stoppers is appealing to the public for assistance in identifying a suspect of a sexual assault that occurred at an apartment building located at 101 Bristol Road East, Mississauga.

On Thursday, May 21, 2009, at approximately 5:20 p.m., a female victim parked her car in the underground parking lot at 101 Bristol Road East.  After exiting her car, the victim proceeded to the stairwell, located at the south side of the building.
 
As the victim was climbing the stairs, the suspect followed her into the stairwell and approached her from behind. Upon catching up to the victim, the suspect sexually assaulted her. 
 
The victim immediately began to struggle with the suspect, who subsequently fled.   
 
The suspect is described as a South Asian male, approximately 20 years old, 6 feet tall, with a slim build and weighing around 170 lbs, short dark hair and was clean shaven.

The suspect was last seen wearing light-coloured ¾ length denim shorts, a crew-necked blue and white t-shirt and white running shoes. At the time of the assault he was carrying a black backpack.
