Crime of the Week - Brampton

Release #: 2008 - 24b

FLEA MARKET ROBBERY

A woman escaped serious injury during a gunpoint robbery, and your anonymous call to Crime Stoppers can ensure the cowardly suspect is caught.

On Sunday, October 19, 2008, at around 5:00 in the afternoon, the victim was preparing to close her stall at the Seven Four Seven Flea Market on Parkhurst Square in Brampton. That’s in the Steeles Avenue and Airport Road area. The suspect approached the victim and grabbed her fanny pack, ordering her to give him the money. As the two struggled, the suspect placed the barrel of a handgun into the victim’s side and dragged her outside.

While outside, the fanny pack broke away from the victim’s waist and fell to the ground. The suspect ran into the passenger side of a newer model, red, two door Japanese vehicle, with grey or black interior. That vehicle left the area, driven by another suspect.

The suspect is described as male, black, in his late teens or early twenties, 5’ 5” tall, with a muscular build, and his hair in corn rows. He was wearing dark baggy jeans and a white or grey hoodie with a black pattern on it. The driver of the getaway vehicle is described as male, black, 6’ tall, wearing a white hoodie.
