Crime of the Week - Brampton

Release #: 2008 - 19b

CONSTRUCTION EQUIPMENT DESTROYED

Over ½ million dollars worth of construction equipment was damaged by some inconsiderate criminals, and the 22 Division Criminal Investigation Bureau is encouraging the public to call Crime Stoppers to give them a lead in this case.

Sometime during the early morning hours of Tuesday August 26, 2008, unknown culprit(s) attended a construction site located just north of the Brampton Memorial Gardens Cemetery on Chinguacousy Road at Bovaird Drive. Investigators believe that the culprit(s) gained entry into a Hitachi Excavator and used this excavator to topple over 4 other heavy construction vehicles. This series of events caused extensive damage to all of the vehicles, as well as the construction site itself.
